Here’s your spring gardening checklist

Spring is here…

We all like to get outside and enjoy a sunny afternoon in the garden. Now’s the time to make sure your garden looks good especially if you’re thinking of selling.

Weeding is an essential job in Spring

Cut back overgrown trees and shrubs to allow room for new plants. Don't forget to feed your beds and borders. The winter months will have drained the goodness from your soil. Feed your beds and borders to help your plants grow.

Get that lawn in shape

Your lawn will be starting to grow so get ready to give it it’s first high cut of the year.

What to plant in spring?

April

Why not sow wildflower seeds? They’re bright, colourful and ideal for bees and butterflies too. It’s never too late to start growing your own vegetables. Vegetables like beetroot, carrot and onions and some potatoes can be planted.

May

With warmer weather and sunnier days it’s the perfect time to sow your sunflowers seeds.

Fruit and vegetables like beans, peas, onions, garlic, leeks and strawberries.
